Brew it Fair 2025

In Britain, we drink over 100 million cups of tea everyday but many of the people behind our daily brew face poverty, unsafe working conditions, and the impacts of climate change. Yet tea has the potential to contribute to rural development, improve education outcomes, empower women and ultimately change lives.

Supreme Court Judgement and EHRC Guidance Update

Trans in the city have released an infographic guide to understanding the legal fallout of the Supreme Court ruling

  • QueerAF reports and offers analysis [link] on the Good Law Project's Judicial Review [link] which claims the EHRC proposed guidance puts organisations in a catch 22 situation whereby the choice is to break the law or breach human rights. 

  • Trans in the city have released an infographic guide to understanding the legal fallout of the Supreme Court ruling [download here]

  • A EHRC commissioner claimed while speaking at an event in her personal capacity that trans people had never had the rights afforded to them under the Equality Act since 2010, and that those rights were "lies" and that as a result there would need to be a "period of correction" [link]

  • Oxford and Newbury join Birmingham, Brighton, London and Manchester in suspending party political participation in Pride celebrations in solidarity with trans people [link], while Liverpool Pride was cancelled due to financial difficulties, in part related to cutting ties with a major sponsor (Barclays) due to community concerns [link]

  • The Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) LGBTQ+ staff network is reportedly refusing to march under the organisation’s banner at Pride after being told the regulator would be designating office single-sex facilities, such as toilets, as based on “biological sex” [link]

  • Trans Solidarity Alliance have raised almost £5k at the time of writing by selling badges to cisgender allies that say "maybe I'm trans?"  designed to highlight the challenges of policing single sex spaces based on gender normativity [link]

  • Over 30k cisgender women sign an open letter in solidarity with transgender people [link]
