Target group: Anyone who comes into contact with people who are at increased risk
of fire in their homes, managers, supervisors and safeguarding leadership roles.
Learning outcomes:
After completing the module, participants will be able to:
● Identify the most common causes of fires, and what action to take to prevent fires in
people’s homes.
● Recognise and address the factors that makes a person at increased risk of being harmed
by fire.
● Explain how, when and where to refer fire risk concerns.
● Apply best practice approaches for early identification and assessment of fire risks.
● Explain the eight principles of learning to prevent future serious safeguarding fire incidents.
